The body only adapts to the stresses placed upon it. So if you are limited in the loads during your training you will be limited or stall with your progress. That is why training knowledge is extremely important for success and safety. You need to be able to handle heavier loads in a safer position, in order to become stronger. The belt squat is an incredible machine because we can add load onto an athlete from a few different angles.
In this exercise, I have ~400 lbs around my waist, between plate weight and band tension. In my hands, I have 385 lbs. So my body is handling ~800 lbs of resistance. There aren’t many full body exercises where you can add this type of load to your body safely, especially for this amount of volume.
Don’t limit yourself in your training, constantly grow your knowledge base and acquire equipment that will evolve you.
To get past strength barriers and plateaus in your training you must constantly introduce new stimulus into your workouts. New and effective exercises are very important to your longevity and training success. Not all exercises will yield great results so only acquire information from coaches with years of experience and tremendous track records. This exercise has two important benefits… first is provides a great restoration piece by placing traction on the hips and spine and is also a great strength and work capacity exercise. In order to become stronger, you must increase your volume and work capacity in your training.
